An Upgraded Humanity!

About the rapidly changing world, the 4th industrial revolution and the new normal, which is accompanied by a lot of working from home. What the internet is to us now, will soon be the metaverse. What awaits us and how can we deal with it?”

Rapidly changing world!

Many people & companies fall behind because they don't know how to do well with new technology werken. In The mobile phone came on the market in 1999 and now more than 20 years later we think that new technology has moved quickly. The next 20 years will go 10 times faster. Some jobs cease to exist, the future is very uncertain for many people.

Some people go into resistance because of the fear of change, the fear of the unknown, in a company or organization it is called the ''Organizational Immune System''. https://files.eric.ed.gov/fulltext/EJ1056934.pdf

An organization's immune system consists of the people, policies, procedures, processes, and culture it creates to prevent change, regardless of the consequences (Gilley, Godek, & Gilley, 2009).

The system, a group of people who want to hold back innovation or watch the cat out of the tree. In any case, being on hold. That can cause major problems for the existence of such a company or organization. Kodak is a nice example. An engineer at Kodak itself invented the digital camera. The management didn't want to pick that up. Kodak's biggest business model was selling expensive rolls of film, they didn't want to get rid of that either because their existing business model worked well, didn't it? The once largest company in the world thought they could continue like this for another 10 years and that cost them their heads.

From scarcity to abundance!

The Fourth Industrial Revolution:

The fourth industrial revolution is about the merging of the physical, digital and biological worlds. It is the integration of artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, genetic engineering, the Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain, quantum computing, Extended Reality (XR) and other disruptive technologies. Disruptive literally means disruptive, devastating and disruptive innovative technologies. Innovation that at some point creates a new market and can completely wipe out the existing market for similar products.

There has never been a time with so much disruptive technology.

Klaus Schwab has said and written a number of things in his book “The Great Reset” that has turned many people off.

A famous saying of his is: “You will own nothing and you will be happy”.

In my opinion he could very well be right and that need not be a bad thing at all. We are increasingly moving towards a partial society. Where you share cars, scooters, bicycles instead of owning one yourself. Driving your own car could quickly become unnecessary and might even be banned in the future. It has already been proven that the self-driving car is much safer than a car with a human driver. Smart startups are even going on the hunt for ideas that don't require them to own their own property. Look at Uber and Airbnb. They have no property and no employees. At least not in comparison with taxi companies and hotel chains.

It's just a pity that Klaus Schwab is the Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum. If someone else had said it (someone with much less money and power) the message would have come across much better.

It World Economic Forum (World Economic Forum of WEF) is an annual meeting of the CEOs of the largest companies in the world, international politicians (presidents, prime ministers and others), intellectuals and journalists, about 2500 people in total. The WEF organizes an annual meeting in Davos every winter and several regional conferences on all continents. Because Davos gathers the most influential people, including many heads of state, it is an influential platform.

The new normal

The new normal is accompanied by a lot of working from home.

Everything is now done from behind our laptop or PC. Many people have now gotten used to it and do not necessarily want to go back. But for others, living and working at home is more difficult.

Working from home in combination with caring for the children and job insecurity due to the current economic situation give many people an increased sense of stress.

In addition, disrupting social networks has a demonstrably negative effect on mental health (Wood en Bourque, 2018).

What awaits us?

All information technology is going to be digitized and that will completely disrupt the market and how we do things. Making it more affordable and ultimately also easily available to everyone.

Education, Coaching, training everything is digitized and I believe the best way to make this digital is through XR, a collective name for VR, AR, MR. I am particularly excited about   ”the Metaverse”. This allows you to create the most inspiring, effective and safest learning environments, making them affordable for everyone and easily accessible anywhere in the world. So the 'Metaverse' is going to cause such a disruption. It is said that what the Internet is today, the Metaverse will be for the people of tomorrow.

Facebook has changed its name and is now called “Meta” and promises to create 10,000 jobs in Europe alone. But what does this actually mean?Vishal Shah vice president of Metaverse/Facebook says this: The metaverse is a series of virtual three-dimensional spaces where you can share immersive experiences with others, even if you can't physically be together. It will be inherently social; You can hang out with friends, collaborate with colleagues, learn, shop and create, among other things. The metaverse isn't just VR! Those spaces will connect to AR glasses and to 2D spaces like Instagram. Source: https://www.fastcompany.com/90678442/what-is-the-metaverse

These can be closed Metaverses or spaces such as workplaces of an organization or for paid experiences, workshops or presentations for which you have to pay an entrance ticket. Like at VR Day's  Europe,  https://vrdays.co/

A top XR/hybrid Metaverse event. With fascinating speakers from all over the world, so you can be physically present or in the Metaverse as an Avatar.

These can also be open spaces in the Metaverse, accessible to everyone, this also works well for community building. Spaces with shops, companies, meeting places. Spaces to offer you products and/or services. In any case, Facebook will not be alone, the Metaverses are now popping up like mushrooms.

We are building such a community in the Metaverse. This one is called ”CaptainVR H.A.S. H20”. There we offer educational programs about VR coaching & Training, Metaverse coaching & training, Metaverse Worldbuilding, Metaverse Business Development & Consultancy. You can also become a member of our community and think and build with us, about how we can design this new world in the most effective and inspiring way.

Ultimately, all Metaverses will be connected to each other, including the social media platforms and websites, if we still use them. Probably not as we know it now.

How can we deal with that?

Making People & Organizations Future proof! Encouraging organizations to take action to work with new technology. Helping organizations manage the people of tomorrow with the aim of:

  1. Purpose driven organizations.
  2. Purpose-driven organizations. goede work-life balance.
  3. Guarantee existence.

Purpose is becoming an important part of our lives anyway. Much more than how it was with our ancestors. This is also possible if your primary physical needs are met and your social security is guaranteed. (Maslow Pyramid)

This creates space for self-development and purpose. Times are also changing because we are much more involved in personal development, coaching and therapy. In the past, psychological help was associated with mental illness. If you had psychological help, you really didn't go well and you could just be locked up in an asylum. The stigma on psychological problems is still great. It was not until around 1980 that more and more psychologists started offering their services as coaching.

In 2008 I started the trainer/coach year course at the Academy for Innovative Training.” Then family and friends of mine wondered what exactly that was.

And now 14 years later everyone is a coach!

By that I mean to say, a rapidly changing world, if you know how to respond to it and know how to bounce along in a good way, more go with the flow. Then you can also see or create many opportunities for yourself and perhaps for others.

And so the new will soon return to normal!

Background Dana-Maria Faneker

From the age of 18 to the age of 36, Dana-Maria has spent her life mainly outside and in nature. She has sailed worldwide on large traditional sailing ships as a sailor on sailing trips to the Mediterranean, the Baltic Sea and Spitsberen the North Pole, but also as skipper in the Netherlands on the canal cruise in Amsterdam and on a two-masted clipper on the mudflats and the IJsselmeer. In addition, she was often a ski instructor in Austria every other winter. Dana-Maria Faneker is a spiritual person and believes social contact and spending time in nature is essential for good health. By spiritual she means that she started yoga and meditation at a young age. That she has worked with shamans in nature. Visited several special places, where she participated in rituals: During midsummer night at Stonehenge, Selfica healing and meditation in Damanhur, Vipassana retreat Dhamma Pajjota, Ayahuasca weekend in a Yurt. In 2006 she did a self-development seminar in London and there she felt for the first time that she was really the captain of her life. That was the start of her coaching career. In 2010 Dana-Maria first started as a coach/trainer at Greenpeace and since 2013 she has her own coaching practice. She wanted to make people captain of their lives, and because new positive behavior is often difficult to learn, she was always looking for an ever better way to help people with this. For example, in 2015 she started working with Virtual Reality as the first coach in the Netherlands, there were no VR Apps for coaching at that time, which is why she had to develop her own VR Apps herself. In 2016 Dana-Maria won the prize for the best VR idea in the Netherlands, ”the Samsung VR Challenge”. After that, she increasingly focused on stress management through VR and other new technologies such as XR and biofeedback. Since 2019, Dana-Maria also works in the Metaverse and organizes small and large events and workshops in VR. She did this, among other things, in collaboration with Educators in VR.

Dana-Maria was one of the first with a mobile phone, but only bought her own laptop for work since 2010. Before then she hardly used a laptop or PC because she was always outside. In a short time Dana-Maria has learned a lot about new technology herself and with the help of many others. Because she also wanted to help other coaches, people and organizations with this, the CaptainVR training institute was created and since the end of last year also CaptainVR Hybrid Action Space.

CaptainVR H.A.S. strives to make People & Organizations Future proof! We encourage people and organizations to take action to work with new technology and help them manage the people of tomorrow.
